Discover the Poet in You
As a Human being, each one of us have the creative power hidden deep inside us.
This creativity makes one as Mechanic, Writer, Painter, Photographer, Sculptor.etc..
To my mind, even the person, who digs the road for laying a pipeline , is a Master in his trade.
Very often, I use to wonder upon seeing many mammoth constructions like the old Castles, Taj Mahal , Steep Spires of Hindu Temples. But it is actually ,the people who actually built them are to be appreciated than the Architect or the Engineers behind them.
Similarly, in each business or profession, we can come across such hidden craft and skill.
Such is the expression given to the human power when it exhibits.
Poetry is one such hidden skill which can be exhibited if we consciously try it.
Just you can take a piece of paper and start jotting your imagination about any thing around you. It can be a colorful flower, a Laptop, Friend, Sky,etc..
The more you think about them, either negative or positive attributes, you fill find that words are pouring in to begin the first lines of your maiden poem.
Some people get naturally the smooth flow of words and some tend to be sluggish...Here, the inherent taste of admiring and absorbing anything and everything makes the difference in poetic creation .
I wrote my first poem in the year 1979 and since then writing but not much. Because, we are preoccupied with some other assignments, mind is engaged .
My experience is that some poems are written in 5 minutes and some take even months. But for all this to happen, we should have the habit of keeping the records of whatever be the scribbling which can be gradually refined by rewriting more than once.
